Meet Michelle
Welcome! Join me in conversation, shared experiences, the world through the lens of poetry and story. I am most interested in connecting and creating.
Michelle Holland is currently the Poet-in-Residence at the Santa Fe Girls School and the treasurer of NM Literary Arts. She joined the Rio Arriba Adult Literacy Program (RAALP) tutoring staff two and a half years ago, and has participated in the annual storytelling workshops, as well as presenting stories at the annual RAALP fundraiser. She lives in Chimayó NM, where she gardens, writes poetry and creative non-fiction, and runs the trails from the BLM gate through the barrancas to Truchas. Her poems can be found in literary journals, in print, online, and anthologized, most recently in Places on the Way: A Poetry Road Trip, June Road Press, and A Year of New Mexico Poetry, Casa Urraca Press. She has two book-length collections of poetry, Chaos Theory, Sin Fronteras Press, and The Sound a Raven Makes, Tres Chicas Press, New Mexico Book Award winner. Her latest collection, Circe at the Laundromat, is forthcoming November 2026, with Casa Urraca Press.
